Ingredients
Scale
- 2–4 white fish fillets (6 oz each)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1–2 fresh red chilies, finely diced
- 1/2 tsp dried chili flakes
- 1/4 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Prepare the fish: Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Season generously with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Sear to perfection: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add seasoned fillets and sear for 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Create the chili-herb infusion: Add butter, garlic, chilies, and chili flakes to the skillet. Sauté until fragrant. Stir in parsley and lemon juice off the heat.
- Assemble and serve: Transfer fish to a serving plate and ladle chili-herb oil over the fillets. Serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Ensure fish fillets are dry for optimal searing. Adjust spice levels to taste.
