Description

Delightful apple pie biscuit sandwiches combining flaky biscuits with tender, cinnamon-spiced apples.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups of biscuit mix
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 cups of diced apples
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix the biscuit mix and milk in a mixing bowl until a soft dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into circles.
  4. Prepare the apple filling by cooking diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches by layering half the biscuit rounds, spooning the apple mixture on top, and capping with remaining rounds.
  6. Dot with small pieces of butter on the top layer.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the apple filling in advance. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
