Description

A vibrant and flavorful chutney made with ripe pineapple and spicy jalapeños, perfect for enhancing any dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe pineapple, diced
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the diced pineapple, chopped jalapeños, red onion, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and lime juice. Stir well to ensure everything mixes beautifully.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture begins to simmer gently.
  3. Lower the heat, allowing the chutney to cook for approximately 15-20 minutes, stirring intermittently until the pineapple softens and the mixture thickens.
  4. Taste your creation and add salt as desired.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the chutney cool to room temperature before serving.

Notes

This chutney develops better flavor over time, so consider making it a day in advance.
