Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough or whole grain bread
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 23 fresh jalapeños (finely chopped)
  • Butter (for toasting)

Instructions

  1. Mix the fillings: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, shredded Monterey Jack, and chopped jalapeños until well blended.
  2. Prepare your sandwich by spreading a generous layer of the cheese mixture onto one slice of bread. Top with the second slice.
  3. Butter the outside of the sandwich generously with butter.
  4. Cook the sandwich in a preheated nonstick skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Flip the sandwich carefully and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until crispy and the cheese is melted.
  6. Slice the sandwich diagonally and serve immediately.
