Description

Delicious Snickerdoodles with a crunchy exterior and soft, chewy inside, infused with cinnamon and sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until well combined.
  6. Mix the cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of sugar in a small bowl.
  7. Roll the dough into balls, about 1 inch in size, and coat them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Place the dough balls on ungreased baking sheets, spaced apart.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are slightly golden.
  10. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Dough can be chilled for up to 3 days before baking. For an easy alternative, try using an air fryer!
