Description

A comforting and savory dish featuring tender beef tips slow-cooked with mushrooms in a rich gravy.

Ingredients

  • Beef stew meat or chuck roast (2 1/2 lbs)
  • Salt (1 tsp)
  • Pepper (1 tsp)
  • Garlic powder (1 tsp)
  • Smoked paprika (1 tsp)
  • Olive oil (1 tbsp)
  • Mushrooms (8 oz, sliced)
  • Beef broth (1 cup)
  • Worcestershire sauce (2 tbsp)
  • Onion (1, chopped)

Instructions

  1. Sear the beef: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Sear the beef in batches, allowing it to brown on all sides.
  2. Combine in slow cooker: Transfer the seared beef to the slow cooker. Add the sliced mushrooms, chopped onion, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the beef becomes tender.
  4. Serve: Serve hot with rice or crusty bread.

Notes

For the best results, sear the beef properly to enhance flavor and avoid overcrowding the pan. Customize with additional vegetables as desired.
