- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup pretzel crumbs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
- Set up your breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and pretzel crumbs in separate shallow dishes.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, then dip in the egg, and finally press into the pretzel crumbs.
- Arrange the breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While the chicken bakes, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, whisk in the Dijon mustard and milk, and cook until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar until smooth.
- Serve the chicken hot with the sauce drizzled on top and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Make pretzel crumbs and the mustard-cheddar sauce in advance for convenience. Adjust baking time if prepping the chicken a day ahead.
