Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup pretzel crumbs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Set up your breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and pretzel crumbs in separate shallow dishes.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, then dip in the egg, and finally press into the pretzel crumbs.
  5. Arrange the breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. While the chicken bakes, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, whisk in the Dijon mustard and milk, and cook until thickened.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar until smooth.
  8. Serve the chicken hot with the sauce drizzled on top and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Make pretzel crumbs and the mustard-cheddar sauce in advance for convenience. Adjust baking time if prepping the chicken a day ahead.
