Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Prepare the cherry filling in a mixing bowl, combining the pitted cherries, sugar, flour, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
- Roll out your pie crust on a floured surface to fit your pie dish comfortably.
- Pour the cherry mixture into the crust evenly.
- Dot the mixture with small pieces of butter.
- Roll out a second pie crust and place it over the filling, or create a lattice pattern.
- Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Cool the pie for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
