Description

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gradually, mixing just until combined.
  7. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and smooth the tops with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cooling the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, brown butter, vanilla bean paste, and milk until smooth.
  10. Glaze the cooled cakes by drizzling the glaze over the top.
