- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat a splash of olive oil in a large skillet. Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until tender.
- Stir in the ground beef, salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Layer half of the potato slices in a greased baking dish. Sprinkle half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, followed by some shredded cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
- Pour the beef broth over the layers.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
- Allow to sit for a few minutes before serving.

Make ahead and refrigerate overnight. Adjust cooking times if baking from cold.
