Description

Crunchy green beans, sweet golden honey, fresh garlic, and a fiery kick of red pepper! These Hot Honey Garlic Pickled Green Beans are tangy, slightly sweet, and wonderfully spicy. They’re perfect for snacking straight from the jar, adding to charcuterie boards, or serving alongside burgers and BBQ favorites!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and lightly crushed
  • ½ cup white vinegar (5% acidity)
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar (5% acidity)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • ½ teaspoon black peppercorns
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 small fresh jalapeño, sliced (optional)
  • 2 sprigs fresh dill (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the green beans thoroughly and trim the ends. Cut them to fit inside a clean heat-safe jar.
  2. Pack the green beans upright into the jar with the garlic, jalapeño, dill, mustard seeds, peppercorns, and red pepper flakes.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, water, honey, and kosher salt.
  4. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring until the honey and salt dissolve.
  5. Carefully pour the hot brine over the green beans until completely covered.
  6. Let the jar cool slightly, then cover and refrigerate promptly.
  7. Allow the beans to pickle for at least 24–48 hours before serving for the best flavor.
