Description

A deconstructed version of classic egg rolls, packed with savory flavors and vibrant crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground pork, chicken, or turkey
  • 4 cups cabbage slaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce, tamari, or coconut aminos
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Additional sliced green onions and chili flakes for topping

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground meat and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, for about 5 to 6 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Toss in the onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes until the onion is tender and translucent.
  3. Stir in the cabbage slaw mix, coating it with the meat mixture. Cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently until the cabbage wilts but remains slightly crunchy.
  4. Whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha in a small bowl. Pour the sauce over the mixture in the pan, tossing to combine. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, adding chili flakes if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Customize with your protein choice and experiment with additional vegetables. Best served fresh, but can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
