  • 2 Tablespoons Butter

Instructions

  2. Combine the brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan.
  3. Add milk gradually while whisking to avoid lumps. Place over medium heat.
  4. Stir constantly until thick and bubbling.
  5. Temper the egg yolks in a separate bowl, then mix with a small amount of the hot filling.
  6. Combine the tempered yolk mixture back into the saucepan.
  7. Add butter and vanilla, cooking for another minute.
  8. Pour the filling into the cooled pie crust and smooth the top.
  9. Chill for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  10. Top with whipped cream before serving.
