For the Cake
- 2 cups oat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup pumpkin puree (100% pure pumpkin)
- ¼ cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
- ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
- 2–3 tablespoons water, if needed
For the Frosting
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened)
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
Optional Decorations
- Mini dog biscuits
- Blueberries
- Banana slices
- Strawberry slices
- Shredded carrots
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 6-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the oat flour and baking powder.
- Add the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, applesauce, eggs, and melted coconut oil. Mix until smooth. Add a little water if the batter is too thick.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack.
- In a small bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt and peanut butter until creamy.
- Frost the cooled cake evenly.
- Decorate with dog biscuits, blueberries, banana slices, strawberries, or shredded carrots.
- Slice and serve a small piece to your birthday pup!
