Description

A delicious dish featuring cheese-filled tortellini in a creamy garlic sauce, topped with seared chicken and fresh parsley.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Chicken breast tenderloins
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 19 oz Refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano, freshly grated
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Italian parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Season and sear the chicken: Pat the chicken tenderloins dry. Combine garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper; rub on the chicken. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Set aside to rest and slice.
  2. Cook the tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add tortellini and cook according to package instructions, about 2-3 minutes. Drain, reserving 1/4 cup pasta water.
  3. Build the creamy sauce: In the same skillet from the chicken, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, simmer for about 3 minutes. Whisk in Parmigiano-Reggiano until melted.
  4. Assemble and serve: Toss cooked tortellini in the creamy sauce, adding reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached. Serve in bowls topped with sliced chicken and garnish with parsley.
