Description
Delicious and portable pizza pockets filled with mozzarella, pepperoni, and pizza sauce, wrapped in a doughy crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (240g) Plain Non-Fat Greek Yogurt
- 1 cup (120g) Self-Rising Flour
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1/2 cup Low-Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/4 cup Turkey Pepperoni Slices
- 1/4 cup Marinara or Pizza Sauce
- 1 Egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Dried Oregano and Grated Parmesan (for dusting)
Instructions
- Make the Dough: In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, self-rising flour, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir until a shaggy dough forms, then knead gently for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
- Divide and Roll: Dust your countertop with flour, divide the dough into four equal balls, and roll each into a circular shape, about 6 inches in diameter.
- Stuff the Pockets: On one half of each dough circle, spoon 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce. Top the sauce with turkey pepperoni and a generous sprinkle of mozzarella.
- Seal Them Tight: Fold the dough over the filling, crimping the edges with a fork to prevent any filling from escaping.
- The Golden Touch: Transfer your pockets to a baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle dried oregano and grated parmesan.
- Cook to a Golden Crisp: Air Fryer: Cook at 190°C (375°F) for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown. Oven: Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 15–18 minutes.
- Serve: Let the pizza pockets cool for 3–5 minutes before serving.
