2-Ingredient Chicken Dog Treats: The Simple, Vet-Friendly Recipe Your Pup Will Love

  • Author: Sophie

Description

Simple, homemade dog treats made with just chicken and egg, perfect for training rewards or an occasional special treat.

Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 15–20 minutes Total Time: approximately 35 minutes Yield: varies depending on treat size (typically 20–30 small treats)

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breast

  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the chicken thoroughly, then let it cool slightly.
  • Add the cooked chicken and egg to a food processor.
  • Blend until you have a smooth, thick mixture.
  • Spoon small portions onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, or pipe the mixture into small bone-shaped treats.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the treats are firm and the chicken is fully cooked.

  • Let them cool completely before serving.

Notes

Do not add salt, garlic, onion, spices, or seasoning. Make sure the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally. Treats should be given in moderation and should not replace a complete, balanced dog diet.
