- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 slices bread
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden brown.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer sautéed mushrooms and Swiss cheese on two slices of bread.
- Top with the other slices of bread, mustard side down.
- Grill the sandwiches in the skillet until golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add garlic or herbs to the mushrooms while sautéing.
- Use whole grain bread for a healthier option.
- This sandwich can be made vegetarian by omitting any meat.
