Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls, about one tablespoon each, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them two inches apart.
- Press the tops of the dough balls gently to flatten and sprinkle each with colorful sprinkles or decorative sugar.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft.
- Allow cooling on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
