A delicious and spicy take on the classic Po’ Boy sandwich, featuring crispy shrimp and zesty Cajun flavors.
Ingredients

- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Lettuce, for serving
- Tomato slices, for serving
- Remoulade sauce, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix flour, Cajun seasoning, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove shrimp from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture.
- Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and season with additional salt if desired.
- Assemble the Po’ Boys by placing shrimp in hoagie rolls, topping with lettuce, tomato, and remoulade sauce.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra heat, add more cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
- Feel free to customize toppings with pickles or avocado.
- Can substitute shrimp with chicken for a different flavor.
