Description

Deliciously tender donuts with a hint of tang from sour cream, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan thoroughly.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl and whisk until blended.
  3. Whisk the sour cream, melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, folding gently until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before removing them to a wire rack.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, then serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
