Description

Smoked Ribs with Homemade BBQ Sauce is a delicious and flavorful dish that combines tender, smoky ribs with a rich and tangy barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks of pork ribs
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to create a dry rub.
  3. Apply the dry rub generously to both sides of the ribs.
  4. Place the ribs in the smoker and smoke for about 5-6 hours, or until tender.
  5. While the ribs are smoking, prepare the homemade BBQ sauce by combining ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and smoked paprika in a saucepan.
  6. Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. During the last hour of smoking, brush the BBQ sauce onto the ribs.
  8. Once done, remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the ribs overnight with the dry rub.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the BBQ sauce by adding more or less honey according to your taste.
  • Serve with coleslaw or cornbread for a complete meal.
