Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  5. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  6. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.
  7. Serve the pulled chicken on hamburger buns.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the BBQ sauce overnight before cooking.
  • Feel free to add coleslaw on top of the sandwiches for added crunch.
