- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup homemade or store-bought caramel sauce

- 2 cups powdered sugar
- Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually incorporate the powdered sugar for stiff peaks.
- Layer one cake on a platter, add caramel and frosting, then top with the second cake. Repeat.
- Drizzle more caramel on top and finish with sea salt.
- Slice and serve, enjoying the flavors!
