Description

A comforting and indulgent dish featuring tender chicken breasts coated in a crunchy pretzel crust, complemented by a creamy mustard-cheddar sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 Chicken Breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 2 Cups Crushed Pretzels
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/4 Cup Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • Oil for Frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Create your breading station using three bowls for flour, egg mixture, and crushed pretzels.
  3. Season each chicken breast generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Dredge the chicken in flour, dip in the egg mixture, then roll in crushed pretzels.
  5. Fry in a preheated skillet with oil over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
  7. Combine Dijon mustard and cheddar cheese in a small saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth.
  8. Drizzle the sauce over the cooked chicken and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier option, try using an air fryer. You can also prepare the chicken up to the frying stage in advance.
