- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, then remove from the pan.
- In the same pan, combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it thicken slightly.
- Add the fried chicken back into the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions.
Notes
- For extra crunch, double fry the chicken.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
- Serve with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
