Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, then remove from the pan.
  4. In the same pan, combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it thicken slightly.
  6. Add the fried chicken back into the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with green onions.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double fry the chicken.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
