Description

Delicious soft pretzels filled with gooey mozzarella cheese, infused with rosemary and topped with Parmesan.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Divide the dough into equal pieces and flatten each piece.
  6. Place a piece of mozzarella cheese in the center, fold the dough over, and shape into a pretzel.
  7. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add baking soda.
  8. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then place on the baking sheet.
  9. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with rosemary and Parmesan.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add garlic powder to the dough.
  • Serve warm for the best texture.
