Delicious meatball subs filled with gooey mozzarella cheese, perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 sub rolls
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix until well combined, then form into meatballs, placing a cube of mozzarella in the center of each meatball.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Once the meatballs are done, place them in the marinara sauce to coat.
- Split the sub rolls and fill each with meatballs and sauce.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the meatball mixture.
- These subs can be made ahead of time and reheated.
- Feel free to use turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter option.
