  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Mix until well combined, then form into meatballs, placing a cube of mozzarella in the center of each meatball.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, place them in the marinara sauce to coat.
  7. Split the sub rolls and fill each with meatballs and sauce.
  8. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!

  • For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the meatball mixture.
