- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup chocolate fudge for filling
- Chocolate ganache for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cake pans.
- Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, then beat for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water until combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice the top off one layer and hollow out space for the fudge filling.
- Assemble the cake with layers and cover with chocolate ganache.
- Chill until ganache is set, then slice and serve.
