Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate fudge for filling
  • Chocolate ganache for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cake pans.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, then beat for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water until combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Slice the top off one layer and hollow out space for the fudge filling.
  9. Assemble the cake with layers and cover with chocolate ganache.
  10. Chill until ganache is set, then slice and serve.
