- 125 g melted butter

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 340°F (170°C) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
- Whip the egg whites in a clean bowl with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
- Beat the yolks with the caster sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Incorporate melted butter and vanilla into the yolk mixture, whisking until blended.
- Sift the flour over the batter and stir carefully to prevent lumps.
- Add lukewarm milk slowly while stirring until the mixture is smooth.
- Fold in the whipped egg whites gently using a spatula.
- Bake the batter in the prepared pan for 35–60 minutes, until golden and set.
- Cool the cake completely in the pan, then dust with icing sugar before serving.
