Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9-inch round cake pan thoroughly.
- Beat together the ricotta cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition along with the vanilla extract.
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
