Instructions
- Mix the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sourdough starter, warm water, sugar, and salt. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Let It Rise: Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Shape the Bagels: Divide dough into 8 pieces, roll each into a ball, then poke a hole through the center.
- Boil the Bagels: Bring a large pot of water to a boil, adding baking soda. Boil bagels for about 1 minute on each side.
- Prepare for Baking: Let boiled bagels dry for a minute before placing them on a lined baking sheet.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle your chosen toppings on bagels.
- Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
