Description
Experience the rich flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine with these crispy grilled lamb pita arayes, filled with spiced lamb and served hot.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 2 pita breads
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for brushing
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix everything together until well combined.
- Cut each pita bread in half to create pockets.
- Gently stuff the lamb mixture into each pita pocket, pressing lightly to ensure they are filled but not overstuffed.
- Preheat your grill over medium heat and brush the grill grates with olive oil.
- Place the stuffed pitas on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Remove the pitas from the grill and allow them to cool slightly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
Avoid overstuffing the pita to prevent bursting while grilling. Let the arayes cool slightly before serving for a cleaner bite.
