Description

A comfort meal of perfectly fried steak topped with rich, creamy gravy. Perfect for family gatherings or cozy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 beef steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or flank)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for gravy)
  • 2 cups milk
  • Seasonings (like garlic powder, onion powder, or cayenne pepper) to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Dredge the seasoned steaks in flour, shaking off the excess.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet until it shimmers over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
  5. Set aside on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. Make a roux by melting butter and stirring in flour until golden.
  7. Whisk in milk gradually until thickened.
  8. Season the gravy with salt, pepper, and spices to taste.
  9. Serve the gravy drizzled over the fried steaks.

Notes

For an even crispier steak, ensure the oil is hot enough before frying, and allow the meat to rest after frying.
