- Gel food coloring (pink and blue)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful to avoid overmixing.
- Separate the dough into two portions, adding pink gel food coloring to one and blue to the other.
- Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Notes
For best results, refrigerate cookie dough for up to 2 days before baking. Try adding chocolate chips or different flavor extracts for variations.
