Description

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring (pink and blue)
  • Cotton candy flavoring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful to avoid overmixing.
  6. Separate the dough into two portions, adding pink gel food coloring to one and blue to the other.
  7. Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and centers are soft.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

For best results, refrigerate cookie dough for up to 2 days before baking. Try adding chocolate chips or different flavor extracts for variations.
