Description
Delightful bite-sized churro bites coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for any celebration.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Oil for frying
- Chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the butter melts completely.
- Once the butter melts, add 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir vigorously with your wooden spoon until it pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Introduce 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and incorporate it into the warm dough. Add 4 large eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly.
- While you make the dough, prepare your frying oil in a deep fryer or large pot, heating it to 375°F (190°C).
- Fill your pastry bag fitted with a star tip with the dough. Pipe small rounds into the hot oil, frying for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Once golden, use a slotted spoon to transfer the churro bites to a paper towel-lined cooling rack.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. While warm, toss churro bites in this mixture until evenly coated.
- Serve warm, accompanied by chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping.
