Description

Delightful bite-sized churro bites coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Oil for frying
  • Chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the butter melts completely.
  2. Once the butter melts, add 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir vigorously with your wooden spoon until it pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Introduce 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and incorporate it into the warm dough. Add 4 large eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly.
  4. While you make the dough, prepare your frying oil in a deep fryer or large pot, heating it to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Fill your pastry bag fitted with a star tip with the dough. Pipe small rounds into the hot oil, frying for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Once golden, use a slotted spoon to transfer the churro bites to a paper towel-lined cooling rack.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. While warm, toss churro bites in this mixture until evenly coated.
  8. Serve warm, accompanied by chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
