- 1 lb chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
- Skewers (bamboo or metal)
Instructions
- Soak bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar to create the marinade.
- Add chicken pieces to the marinade and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Thread the marinated chicken and green onion pieces onto the skewers alternately.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill the skewers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, basting with leftover marinade.
- Remove from grill and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add sesame seeds on top before serving.
- Adjust the sweetness of the marinade by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
- Serve with a side of rice or salad for a complete meal.
