Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • Skewers (bamboo or metal)

Instructions

  1. Soak bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar to create the marinade.
  3. Add chicken pieces to the marinade and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Thread the marinated chicken and green onion pieces onto the skewers alternately.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, basting with leftover marinade.
  7. Remove from grill and serve hot.
