- 500g chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, vegetable oil, and all the spices to create a marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers.
- Grill the chicken for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with naan or rice.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add minced garlic and ginger to the marinade.
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- Chicken Tikka can also be made with paneer for a vegetarian option.
