Description
Chicken Manchurian is a popular Indo-Chinese dish made with chicken pieces cooked in a spicy and tangy sauce, often served with fried rice or noodles.

- 500g chicken breast, diced
- 1/2 cup cornflour
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2–3 green chilies, slit
- 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornflour, all-purpose flour, egg, soy sauce, and salt to create a batter.
- Add the diced chicken to the batter and coat well.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the chicken pieces until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In another pan, heat a little oil and sauté onions, bell peppers, and green chilies until soft.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
- Stir in tomato ketchup, vinegar, chili sauce, and mix well.
- Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- Cook for a few minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer green chilies.
- For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken with tofu or paneer.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
