Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe featuring tender chicken breasts stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese, topped with a creamy Swiss cheese sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place each chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound to about 1/2 inch thickness.
  3. Layer each chicken breast with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.
  4. Roll up the chicken tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  5. Dredge each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and brown the chicken rolls on all sides.
  7. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.
  8. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, shredded Swiss cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over low heat until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  9. Serve the chicken rolls topped with the Swiss cheese sauce.
