Description

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and black peppercorns. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté onions until translucent.
  3. Add the marinated chicken (reserve the marinade) and cook until lightly browned.
  4. Pour in the reserved marinade and water. Add bay leaves.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes until chicken is tender.
  6. Season with salt to taste and serve hot with rice.
