- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Pickles or cooked bacon for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet.
- Mix the cooked beef and onions with the cream of mushroom soup and milk in a large mixing bowl.
- Add salt and pepper to taste, then stir until well combined.
- Pour the beef mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Top with frozen tater tots in a single layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the tater tots.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving. Optional: top with pickles or crispy bacon.
