Description

Char Siu Pork Bites are a delicious and flavorful dish inspired by traditional Chinese barbecue. These tender pork bites are marinated in a sweet and savory sauce, then grilled to perfection, making them a perfect appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pork tenderloin
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, five-spice powder, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
  2. Cut the pork tenderloin into bite-sized pieces and add to the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated pork pieces onto skewers.
  5. Grill the pork bites for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through and slightly charred.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add chopped green onions or sesame seeds as a garnish.
  • These bites can be served with a side of rice or steamed vegetables.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the marinade by adding more or less honey according to your taste.
