- 12 large mushrooms
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon thyme, dried
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper, then remove from heat.
- In a bowl, combine caramelized onions with Gruyère cheese.
- Remove stems from mushrooms and fill each cap with the onion and cheese mixture.
- Place stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
