Description

A delightful side dish of yams baked with butter and cinnamon, perfect for holiday gatherings and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 34 Yams or Sweet Potatoes
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel the yams and slice them into uniform rounds about half an inch thick.
  3. Layer the yams in a baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle with salt, then add a layer of brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Dot with pats of butter and add water to the bottom of the dish.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30-45 minutes until fork-tender.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes to caramelize.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Make-ahead option: Prepare the yams and layer them in the baking dish the day before and refrigerate.
