- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and frozen peas and carrots. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a creamier topping, mix in some butter or cream into the mashed potatoes.
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or green beans.
